TORY BURCH CORDIALLY INVITES YOU TO HER SPRING 2022 BLOCK PARTY

 Despite what you may have heard, if you want to make fashionistas happy, give them something to eat at your fashion show. Most people are too busy to have a proper meal, so having food and drink (and alcohol, if the time is right) is a great way to get them in the mood. practical footwear; Flats and sandals glide smoothly over the notoriously tricky Soho cobblestones. Oh, and Kate Upton walked! (Remember her? As a surprise pick like she was for Burch, I hope this marks a renaissance for the model.)

Tory Burch did one better thing for her Spring 2022 runway, taking over Mercer Street to host her very own block party, powered by some of her favorite Soho merchants. She just opened a new store on the block, where shoppers can buy one-of-a-kind homewares, hand-picked by Burch along with her latest products, and think she'll eat. Happy with his new neighbors. Attendees were given mesh bags and free to sit in booths filled with fresh produce, potted plants, piles of magazines and of course food: coffee and avocado toast, candy and treats canned drink.

But even if Burch doesn't bring us all delicious snacks, the collection itself will still be a hit. She pays homage to American designer Claire McCardell, the woman who invented essentially sportswear as we know it today; Combined with Burch's artistic sensibilities, it was a particularly powerful performance for her. The shapes are strong, but easy; waisted maxi skirts, wide leg pants that wrap around the perfect point of the hips (meaning neither uncomfortably high nor uncomfortably low), shoulders that drop on cool sleeves.
